Strength Training Phases
Strength training should follow the same principles of progression and periodization as endurance training.  The phases
of Strength training should correlate with endurance training phases and the competitive season.  Below are listed the
different Training Phases and the corresponding strength training phase: Click on the phase to go to a detailed

1.        Off Season and Transition Phase:           Anatomic Adaptation Phase

2.        General Preparation or Base 1 Phase:    Maximium Strength Phase     

3.        Specific Preparation or Base 2 Phase:   
Power Endurance Phase

4.        Pre-Competition Phase:                            Muscular Endurance Phase

5.        Competition Phase:                                    Strength Maintenance Phase
